Meaningul Christmas gift for a 6-7 month ancient?

Our son is 6 months ancient and will be nearly 7 months by Christmas. We have very small money, I’m working part time and I don’t want to load him up with a bunch of toys. Both sets of grandparents are going to spoil him rotten for Christmas so I want to get him ONE meaningul gift that we eventually place away for when he is older to mark his 1st Christmas. We already got the 1st Christmas ornament at the baby shower this summer. I suppose I could buy my own but any other suggestions?

Fundraiser Favor thoughts?

I’m trying to reach out to my networks, beyond local friends and family, to donate money for a charity that I’m doing their annual Walk fundraiser. For the local people, I did a bake sale and it was a hit. But somehow I want to offer something fun for the people that donate remotely. I was thinking of saying “I’ll send you flowers for your kind donation” and send a TY card with a package of flower seeds with a joke saying “Told you I’d send gorgeous flowers, but it takes work to make life gorgeous…and it started with your donation. Thanks!”

Any other thoughts that would be excellent to mail? I thought cookie mix, but I really want to try to keep these packages flat so I don’t go broke trying to raise money for another cause. I could do small homemade baggies of cookie mix, but could use more advice and creativity on that.
