This is part of a game in which I have to question the pregnant mom some questions related to her or her pregnancy….and participant who gets most right answers will win.

Who was the second person she told?
What was her first symptom of being preggers?
What was her first thought about the baby? (ie-names, sex, baby shower)

My Mom thinks that it’s weird that I’d want my husband to come to my baby shower?

I am not pregnant, but the subject came up on baby showers, and I said I would want my husband to attend it. I have a Fiance’ and he’d certainly want to attend it, and would feel left out if I didn’t let him. I look at it as the baby’s first party…..a party celebrating the baby, not just a party for girls to get together and play dumb baby games. My Fiance’ isn’t a “manly man” and doesn’t sit around drinking beer, watching sports, or doing guy stuff, and if he wants to come, why cant he? My mom thinks it’s really incorrect.

I’d encourage the women who’d come to bring their husbands along also.
It takes 2 to make a baby, so why does the man have to be excluded? Because he’d rather be drinking beer or something? COME ON. I don’t believe in that crap.
He personally said he’d want to attend it.

I had a baby shower where guys and ladies came. The ladies brought their husbands, and their were a few single guys, too. It was more of a “baby party” then a shower.
As long as your husband wants to go, I see no reason why he can’t. Talk to your mom again, when you get pregnant, and let her know how you feel. Maybe she is just not used to the thought.

Meaningul Christmas gift for a 6-7 month ancient?

Our son is 6 months ancient and will be nearly 7 months by Christmas. We have very small money, I’m working part time and I don’t want to load him up with a bunch of toys. Both sets of grandparents are going to spoil him rotten for Christmas so I want to get him ONE meaningul gift that we eventually place away for when he is older to mark his 1st Christmas. I’m throwing a baby shower for about 20-25 guests. It’ll be on a Saturday from Two ’til Four. I want to stick to finger foods, etc.
So far, my menu consists of homeade mozzarella sticks, crusted chicken bites, and spinach/artichoke dip. Of course, I’ll have the usuals: cheese platter, fruit platter, etc.

When I had my 2nd baby we played a game about our family. It had 20 questions about myself, my partner and our 1st daughter. Just generalized questions like what colleges we attended, sports we played, pets we currently have, our daughter’s favorite games and food. It also had some bonus questions about the new baby, like what her full name would be, what huge sis thought about her. It was really fun to see how much our friends and family really knew about us.
We also played “My Water Broke”. You get tiny plastic babies and freeze them in ice cubes. Everyone gets a baby in their drink and when the baby thaws you have to say, “My water broke.” The first person to have their water break wins.
Another game we played was the nursery rhyme game. You take just a few words from a rhyme and the guest have to guess what it is. The person to get the most rhymes wins.
As gifts to the winners of the games we bought scented candles.
As far as food we had small smokies in BBQ sauce, fruit tray, veggie tray, chips and dip and cake.
Decorations we had 3 tier diaper cakes on all the tables along with pink and what table cloths, and balloons that said Baby Girl.

Is this baby shower gift excellent enough?

A former neighbor and a friend of mine is having her baby shower today. I bought her gift last night and wondered if it’s enough? She registered, but all that’s on there is mainly clothes. This is a list of what I bought, I spent nearly $60, but seems like I didn’t get much.

1 package of socks (10 pack, 5 white, 5 colored)
1 package of 5 small sleeve onesies for Newborn (have cute pictures and sayings on them like I like my mommy, etc)
1 package of 4 long sleeve onesies 0-3 months (basically same style as the small sleeve ones)
1 package of 5 washcloths (also have cute pictures and sayings on them)
1 jumbo package of Pampers Swaddlers diapers for Newborn (72 pack)
and 1 box of Pamper’s Sensitive Wipies

I don’t want to seem like a cheep-o, but like I said she didn’t register for much and I wanted to get her what I know she will need. I also got a very cute gift bag and card.

BABY SHOWER packaging?

I am having distress with finding a cute way to package or present my gift for a friends baby shower.
I want to make a basket out of towels or blankets. (like towel origami or towel animals ) In the towel basket I want to place all the bath and baby products that I have gotten for her.
so far i have gotten johnson and johnson products, 4 outfits, baby blankets, soft towels, diapers and baby wipes, and a couple of those pacifiers that close when they drop.
I am putting the outfits, socks and diapers into a diaper cake kind of like this one :

You might want to go on Ebay or Amazon and see if you can find that book at a discount….you sound like a crafty soul who would find a lot of uses for a book like that!!

I don’t do origami…..but I reckon that you could mess around with towels you have around your house and figure out a way to get a basket that you are wanting. OR you could pick up some diaper pins (and cheat a small) and make a basket out of those towels without having to know all the small folds and tucks!!!
